With regards to new web design projects, Jacobito Design likes to follow a process that we’ve found works pretty well. Though there may be new tangents discovered, the overall structure is the same time after time.
In this post, we’ll go over Part One in a five part series entitled “Project Comprehension”. Because we follow a general project outline with all of our clients, we’ll share the breakdown. Here is generally what we cover under Project Comprehension:
- Consultation
- Project Planning
Consultation
This is the part where you find out if we’re a good fit for your project (FYI, we offer a free 30-minute preliminary consultation to get us off on the right foot). During our preliminary consultation, we will realize your goals for the project you have in mind. We help you understand what technologies are available and how they could help achieve goals that you may have. Finally, we’ll follow up our consultation with a free estimate or quote (keep in mind quotes require a much more stringent questionnaire process that could cost you more through extra consultation time) if needed.
Project Planning
Once you have accepted our project estimation or quote, it’s time for a little strategic analyses. After, an agreement is drawn up so that all parameters of the desired project are written out, along with certain parameters Jacobito Design expects from our clients – all in layman’s terms. When the agreement has been agreed upon, it’s time to get to work. Next, we create a project to-do list.
As mentioned before, this is a very general way of starting a website design project. Stay tuned – our next post will cover Part Two – “Designing a Great Website Mock-up”. In that post we’ll cover how we design a website so that it has the right look and feel.
